The Hotel Metropole
is situated minutes away from a popular rocky beach, complete with
a swimming club and picturesque gardens and is only about
20 minutes on foot from our largest night life centre - Paceville
or about a 5 minute bus ride away.
Other major attractions within a 10 minute radius, include the
Ferries Shopping centre by the Sliema Harbour and the
Casino in
Paceville,
which offers a world of fun and excitement. Its Courtesy Bus stops
at the Metropole Hotel at various intervals for Guests wanting to
visit the Casino and try their luck at the games.
This large 3 star Hotel accommodates leisure travellers, tour
operator clients, visiting relatives of local families, long stay
winter guests, delegates on

groups on special interest

and sports tours, covering every conceivable sporting events here
in the centre of the Mediterranean. It is also very popular during
the summer with English Language students and various other
student bodies who choose to stay and learn here in Malta.
Sliema
started taking shape after the end of the last century, when
wealthy Valletta residents started building Summer houses around
the Balluta area. Eventually, these magnificent mansions started
becoming permanent residences and Sliema started growing rapidly.
Situated in the popular seaside residential town of Sliema, The
Metropole Hotel, Malta is just 100 metres away from its famous
seaside promenade, which extends for quite a few miles from St.
Julian's where the night life is lively, to Sliema harbour where
the shopping is terrific.
All along there are several cafes, bars and restaurants as well as
excellent swimming clubs.
Our cheap and frequent local bus transport, gives easy
accessibility to practically anywhere on the Island. The closest
bus-stop is situated only 2 minutes away from the Hotel's
entrance. Buses to Valletta pass approx. every 5/7 minutes and
there are many direct buses to places of interest which pass along
the promenade.

Facilities
The Metropole is a large busy 3 star hotel with a hospitable
atmosphere and friendly staff. This is evident on arrival at the
hotel whether during the day or at night, when the visitor can be
assured of a warm welcome.
Le Soleil,
the large buffet restaurant situated alongside the reception is
adorned with attractive murals and wide French windows, a
combination which create a bright cheery atmosphere. Outside the
restaurant and on the other side of the reception desk is the
lobby with seating around a fire place and a few stairs that lead
up to
Le Metro Bar.
The walls here are covered in framed photographs of famous film
productions, actors and popular music stars. It opens each evening
and throughout the day during the winter and shoulder seasons.
There are 160 Bedrooms which are all en-suite and situated on 6
floors. Many of the rooms have balconies and those which overlook
the main street are large and enjoy a side view of the sea. Others
have smaller balconies while others still are inner looking and
differ in size from single rooms to triple or quadruple ones. A
Suite is also available.
On the first floor, there is a residents lounge with TV and 3 or 4
Internet booths. The room is well lit and has colourful sofas. It
is an ideal room for reading and playing cards or board games. The
room can be separated with a partition and the far end is often
used as a meeting room.
On the 6th floor there is a large all purpose room that is often
used by
special interest groups
for their activities, be it games competitions,
conferences
or presentation purposes while the hotel will from time to time
use it for special meal occasions and private functions.
On the Roof, there are
3 Sun-Decks and Splash Pool.
There is also a pool bar and lunchtime grill open all day during
the Summer, and during the evenings in the peak season. Showering
facilities and sun-loungers are provided free of charge.
There is an In-House Evening
Entertainment Programme
run in English and mostly featuring live music entertainment which
is varied to suit most tastes. Frequency depends on season but
seldom features fewer then three activities during any week.
Special meals and entertainment are provided on Christmas Eve and
New Years Eve.
