IELTS Exam Preparation
Course Structure
The IELTS Exam Preparation (Full) programme is designed for students aiming to achieve a specific band score in the IELTS exam. This comprehensive course offers a balanced combination of General English lessons and targeted IELTS exam preparation. Throughout the programme, students engage in 20 lessons of General English each week, which are complemented by 10 additional lessons focused specifically on the IELTS exam. This structured approach ensures that students not only improve their overall English proficiency but also develop the specific skills and strategies needed to succeed in the exam.
Summary
In the morning sessions, students cover a broad range of General English topics, many of which are relevant to the speaking and listening sections of the IELTS exam. These classes help students build a solid foundation in essential language skills, enhancing their fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. The afternoon sessions, however, are where the focus shifts to IELTS-specific content. Under the guidance of experienced IELTS instructors, students delve into the particular language features, exam techniques, and test-taking strategies that are crucial for achieving a high band score. These sessions include practice tests, feedback sessions, and tips on how to approach each section of the exam effectively.
Eligibility
This course is open to all students aged 18 and above, who have at least a B1 level of English proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This prerequisite ensures that students possess the basic language skills necessary to benefit from the course. Whether you are looking to study abroad, apply for a job that requires IELTS certification, or simply improve your English for personal reasons, this programme is designed to help you achieve your goals.
Schedule
The IELTS Exam Preparation (Full) programme is organized to maximize learning and provide ample opportunity for practice. Morning classes run from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM and cover General English topics that enhance your overall language proficiency. Following a lunch break, the afternoon sessions take place from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, focusing entirely on IELTS exam preparation. This schedule provides a balanced approach, allowing students to build both their general language skills and their exam-specific abilities throughout the day.
Note: EEC-ITIS operates an extended hours policy during weeks containing a public holiday. In these instances, morning lessons are extended by 45 minutes each day, running until 1:00 PM, and afternoon classes are extended by 25 minutes, finishing at 2:55 PM. This ensures that students do not miss out on any critical learning time, even during shorter weeks.
Assessment
Assessment is a key component of the IELTS Exam Preparation programme. Before beginning the course, students take a placement test to determine their current level of English proficiency. This helps place them in the appropriate class where they can learn most effectively. Throughout the course, regular progress tests are administered to track improvements and identify areas that need further attention. These tests provide valuable feedback, allowing instructors to tailor their teaching to the needs of each student. Upon completing the course, students take a final assessment and receive a certificate of attendance or completion, which reflects their progress and achievements.
